Fifth Grade–Week of November 12

This week in APEX we are finishing and printing our pilgrim brochures. Our word of the day on Thursday was hiatus,which means scheduled stop in activities, an example sentence -Next week school will be on a hiatus because of Thanksgiving break. We are also doing punctuation puzzlers to help us with the writing assessment for T-CAP. We are doing these because Mrs. Watson wants us to do good on the assessment.
Our word of the day on Friday was adversary, which means enemy, an example sentence -The British king was an adversary to the colonists when they left Britian because he taxed everything that was imported. On Friday we looked at peoples’ writing assessments and we scored their writing.
