Week of October 12–Back from Fall Break
The APEX classes are working hard on their election scrapbooks. The students are finishing up research on each presidential and vice presidential candidate. They have discussed and printed pages on each of the debate (we were interested in watching the candidates’ body language in the debates.) Each student brainstormed and prioritized the issues being discussed in the election. Last week, we looked at political cartoons and analyzed the symbols the cartoonist used to make a statement. The students really enjoy these cartoons and are on the lookout for more examples to use in their scrapbooks.
Coming up this week: more cartoons, the last presidential debate, political buttons, and possibly podcasts.
